2024 Reading Tents Highlights

Jan. 01 0001

This summer, our Reading Tents brought communities across Canada together for fun and engaging events. Families and children enjoyed free access to books, games, and activities, fostering a love of reading and learning. Our Summer Reading Tent program was designed to help children continue their educational journey during the summer months, providing opportunities to explore a variety of books and develop a lifelong passion for reading.

We are excited to share the memorable moments from these events. Below, you'll find photos and summaries from different regions, capturing the joy and enthusiasm of participants. Join us in celebrating the success of our Reading Tents and the positive impact they have had on our communities.

We were very pleased to host our 125th Anniversary Reading Tent at Warden Woods Community Centre in Toronto. United for Literacy’s staff, volunteers, and partners led a wonderful event that included time to read books, tell stories, and listen to speeches.  We were especially grateful that Zachary Simmons, the Constituency Assistant for MPP Doly Begum, delivered an engaging speech, and provided United for Literacy and Warden Woods Community Centre with certificates.
