Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic individual to manage our social media presence and support our marketing efforts. In this role, you will create engaging social media posts and visuals, schedule content, monitor engagement, assist with digital marketing campaigns, and ensure our website remains up-to-date with relevant content. Additionally, you'll help analyze data to optimize campaigns and support the execution of marketing plans across multiple channels. You'll be creating high-quality visuals using templates while ensuring they align with our organization's personality and brand guidelines. Experience in digital ad implementation is required, giving you the opportunity to further develop and execute effective ad strategies.
The Marketing Coordinator will work closely with our Marketing Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule content across social media platforms, to maintain an active presence across platforms and ensure consistent engagement.
- Update the website with relevant campaign and event details to keep content fresh and accurate.
- Design visually appealing and engaging content for digital campaigns, social media, and promotional materials in line with event and campaign schedules. Such as brochures, posters, flyers, infographics, etc.
- Monitor our Canva account and ensure organization-wide design consistency by creating, reviewing, and maintaining branded templates for various materials, including presentations, reports, social media graphics, and promotional content. The candidate should be well-versed in design principles and able to enforce adherence to our graphic design guidelines across all teams. They will provide guidance on best practices, monitor template usage, and update designs as needed to maintain a cohesive brand identity.
- Prioritize and manage graphic design requests, reviewing them to ensure consistency across all materials, and provide support for ad campaigns from regional teams, in close collaboration with the Marketing Manager.
- Help manage paid campaigns across Google Ads and Facebook Ads, contributing to keyword research, audience targeting, writing ad copy, tracking setup, and more.
- Analyze campaign performance data to refine strategies and drive improvements.
- Translate content from English to French to ensure accessibility and consistency across both languages.
- Assist with SEO-related tasks.

Marketing Development (50%)
- Assist in implementing paid marketing campaigns on Google Ads and Facebook Ads, including keyword and audience research, writing ad copy, setting up tracking, and other campaign tasks.
- Monitor and analyze data to inform strategy and optimize campaigns.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the organization’s national social media accounts and website with relevant content and updates, while ensuring SEO best practices are followed to improve visibility and engagement.
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to align digital initiatives with overall marketing goals and support the execution of the marketing plan across multiple channels.
Stakeholder Management (50%)
- Create high-quality designs for social media, promotional materials, and digital marketing initiatives, including email, mail, social media posts, posters and more, as per calendar of events and campaigns
- Support staff, volunteers, and learners by ensuring adherence to brand standards and assisting with their visual and graphic design needs, including presentations, social media posts, reports, and more. Additionally, help boost social media campaigns when the budget allows.
- Supervise regional social media accounts, ensuring consistency with national branding, and manage the national social media presence directly.
- Assist with writing or coordinating French translations of content.
- Engage and support cross functionally with all departments.
Required Skills:
- Post-secondary education in digital marketing or communications.
- Relevant experiences with paid search, paid social, social media management, and SEO.
- Some experience with Google Analytics and email platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, HubSpot).
- Enthusiasm for learning more about paid digital advertising platforms and marketing strategies.
- Analytical abilities for reporting on marketing initiatives.
- Proficiency in Canva and a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to use AI files when requested.
- Excellent content creation skills for diverse audiences.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French for effective communication and translation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in marketing or communications.
- Proven ability to collaborate and manage multiple projects within deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Working with United for Literacy
- Salary: $37,000 to $42,000
- Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 35 hours per week
